Bunnahabhain 18 years old is a superb malt proud of its complexity and sensitivity, from Islay. Bunnahabhain 18 is characterized by its particularly sweet accents, especially malt, showing also its capability to develop a powerfull peaty malt you can find here in its Toiteach version.

In developing its 18 years old elegant Scotch Bunnahabhain employs three different types of barrels, used in proportions of about 70% Sherry and 30% Bourbon: the result is a particularly successful aging, Bunnahabhain 18 years proved to be less marked by the typical peaty malts of Islay.

Whisky BUNNAHABHAIN.
Bunnahabhain meaning "Mouth of the River" is located in a beautiful setting overlooking the Island of Jura. Unlike its island neighbours, Bunnahabhain is a lightly peated malt.

The distillery has the largest pot stills on the island and its production is mostly used for blending purposes. The un-peated water used at the distillery rises through limestone, and flows down the river Margadale from where it is piped to the distillery. This is a gently subtle Islay malt. Bunnahabhain distillery has sat proudly on the northern shore of Islay for over 125 years, quietly making a distinctly gentle single Islay malt whisky.
