From Knockando, an active distillery on Speyside: this is a first limited release in this series, from first fill ex-sherry European Oak casks. It reveals a most unusual, richly flavoured expression. Caution: fewer than 4,800 individually numbered bottles worldwide... !

In summary a very unusual, rich and deep-flavoured expression of Knockando that is extremely complex and intriguing, bottled in 2011. Superbly balanced, Knockando 25 years drying yet with residual malty sweetness: a broad array of magnificent ex-sherry cask notes make an opulent apéritif, appetising with hard, sharp cheeses.

The Distillery...

Whisky KNOCKANDO - the Distillery.
Although distillation continues throughout the year, each year of production is still referred to as a Season at Knockando distillery. In each bottle you will only ever find the produce of one single Season - a practice which continues to distinguish Knockando™ from almost all other single malts.

Thus, when the young spirit is brought to the warehouse, the Season of distillation is marked on the end of the cask. And when it is ready to be bottled, it is duly inscribed on the bottle and the gift box together with the year of bottling.
